Video Games Compared To Film
I just went through a chapter that discussed writing in video games. It's much more vast and creative than writing for a film or tv show. For example, games such as Grand Theft Auto have to provide dialogue for anything that lives and talks in the game. Random pedestrians have conversations, people react when you hit them with your car, people talk on the radio. All of this requires writers and all of this requires a lot of time to write it out. Sometimes it will be ongoing as the game developers will add downloadable content such as a new story. While the workload is heavy, you have a variety of what you want to write about. Whether it be the main story, sub stories, or even what a bystander has to say.
